A Doozy of a Day

Yesterday was a doozy.
Let me walk you through it.
After a nice, three-day weekend, I woke up early yesterday morning for a day of staff development at school.  I carpooled with my friend Claire (for reasons I’ll get into later).  About halfway through our commute, Ben called me.  Here’s our conversation:
